Pros

Flexible work schedule (depending on manager), work from home options, passionate and smart colleagues

Cons

Abusive executive leadership who don't have proper management and leadership experience; poor compensation and very low wages; hypocritical company culture compared to marketing and trainings, research, and consulting provided to external partners; expectation is for employees to bill 40 hours but work closer to 60 hours per week; high job insecurity

Pros

At CSI you can connect with amazing human beings - mostly members.

Cons

CSI comes with a big caveat: this workplace is just as stressful as private sector work. It's disorganized and they use their good mission to justify long hours or below-average wages. You have to juggle among many tasks. There's not much room to grow in the organization. CSI is a broken culture. Employees at all levels, including the CEO, Tonya Surman, need to be aligned with the organization's values. They disseminate and promote beautiful values such as "people and planet first, but they don't honor their values when it comes to their own employees or volunteers.
