Pros

A good place to pick up a vast set of skills, learn and grow. Creativity is encouraged and the team is open-minded to new ideas.

Cons

Like all agencies OT is inevitable. It's hard to stay long because oftentimes than not, the market can offer a higher salary with the same level of skills.

Steep Learning Curve and High Pressure

Pros

As you engage with clients and oversee project timelines, you'll have ample opportunities for learning and growth. Taking ownership of your projects will be encouraged by the management, fostering creativity within you. Additionally, if luck is on your side, you'll gain exposure to a diverse array of clients spanning various industries. Moreover, you can look forward to a supportive and friendly environment among your colleagues, who are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Cons

The employees' salary falls significantly below the market rate, failing to reflect the hours and dedication demanded by the role. Expressing these concerns to upper management yields no tangible changes. If you find yourself feeling pressured or overburdened by multiple projects, your only recourse is to endure the situation and hope for improvements. The chosen type of clients often exploit the designers, and the management does little to support them since they prioritize pleasing the clients. Furthermore, when anything goes wrong, the blame tends to fall squarely on the designers' shoulders. This is an environment that fosters growth, but it ultimately depends on your ability to handle the pressure.

Demanding Work Environment with Poor Management

Pros

1. Broad Industry Exposure: Broad industry exposure with full-cycle project experience, good for fresh graduates and interns to build their portfolios. 2. Supportive Colleagues: Friendly and collaborative team, both in the Singapore and Jakarta offices. 3. Improved Skill Set: Dynamic roles requiring multiple responsibilities, help to accelerate personal and professional growth.

Cons

1. Limited Career Growth & Compensation: A small agency with limited career advancement and the compensation does not align with the high workload. 2. Insufficient Manpower: Ambitious expansion into the Jakarta office, combined with a hiring freeze in Singapore has resulted in overreliance on interns. This affects operational efficiency & forces full-timers to work overtime to meet tight deadlines. 3. Coordination Issues: Inconsistent communication between the directors which leads to unclear directions. 4. Compulsory Lunches: Daily lunches with management at a designated canteen are mandatory. These lunches can start late or be interrupted by client meetings. 5. Wellness and Benefits: Minimal employee benefits package, and taking medical or annual leave can be stressful due to inflexible deadlines and insufficient coverage. These issues are particularly evident during Christmas or Hari Raya. 6. Holiday Expectations: Employees are required to participate in office spring cleaning during holidays and contribute potluck meals at their own expense. 7. High Turnover: The high employee turnover rate can strain the remaining team, affecting continuity and morale. 8. Client Prioritization Over Employee Well-being: The agency's strong emphasis on client satisfaction often comes at the expense of employee well-being.
