Pros

American Express is a well-known company with a long track record of providing credit cards to businesses and individuals. I will say they practice diversity and inclusion. They also try to train you for the job. However, I have never experienced stress like I did there. See the "cons" section.

Cons

The training was intense, and that's an understatement. Not only was I expected to attend daily training, I was also expected to complete a lengthy training on banking regulations. My advice -- work for AMEX if you have a finance and/or banking background. While I think the company tries to train you, in reviewing customer comments about customer service, you would think AMEX did little training. Not only this, but being a call center, every minute of your day was scheduled and logging in and out was watched. Need to go to the bathroom? Oh well, wait until your break. The feudal system at it's finest.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
