Location, facilities and potential connections in the Biotech world. For those in Sr. Management, the perks are endless with travel and possible chance to fly in the company jet.
Cons
It is not run like a business nor are the decisions based on financial principles. No ROI is applied nor are previous decisions brought under review for whether the goals or objectives were met. The career path is limited for those who support the business. Even research personnel and those involved in the product have limited upward mobility unless you find a mentor or advocate. The move to outsource will be one that bites them in the end.
