I was a professor at ASU for more than a decade, and loved my colleagues who I came there to work with.
Cons
But during the tenure of the president, Michael Crow, I saw it transformed into a place with appreciable but weak faculty influence into a place with no faculty influence, and open contempt for faculty by administrators. Crow spends more time in Washington DC trying to advance his career and influence than he does in Tempe, and the campus spends tremendous energy trying to spread propaganda about what a wonderful place ASU is. Faculty often describe administrators, primarily at the university level, as bullies and sociopaths.
