Cons

do not believe the fake reviews. think twice before applying for a job at this company, especially the uk engineering department. don't believe me? then try it for yourself. you are better off working anywhere else. this place will suck the life out of you and spit you out. it will be the end of you and your career as you know it. luckily I left early. no doubt, the biggest time wasting employer in my whole career working as a consultant. others were/are not so lucky. anyone will be a fool thinking that they will come into this team and get the support they need to succeed or come out a better engineer or person than they came in as. leadership live in their own bubble. there are more messages flying around about everything else than updating people on important things such as where the company is going or what projects they are bidding for. toxic environment is an understatement. the acquisition of the company by Wiprocreated a lot of animosity and completition between the two companies' leadership teams. toxic politics-try not to get caught in the middle. people end up feeling scared to work in project with the wipro teams because people expect the worst from what they are told in meetings with their leadership. many engineers sit for weeks, even months on the bench performing activities that are of no interest to them or good for their career. friends of mine have made the mistake of staying at this place for too long. result, they got demotivated, depressed and lost interest and focus. company will pitch people for roles which they have never heard of and/or they are in no way interested in practicing. if you are half lucky, the business gets the project and you are off the bench. you are given a choice to refuse the project. do that and it will be a big mistake. accept it and again you are in for several surprises as the projects are almost never interesting, just low hanging fruit projects that clients do not want to hand off to their staff. unlucky and stuck on the bench? wait until the next dubious rfp that comes along and hope for the best. while there, I don't remember the department winning any big RFPs. i've seen people who struggled to cope while on the bench and had to write lots of one-paragraph articles/posts in the internal confluence, just to keep them busy and sane. hiring is a joke. hr people not properly trained by the business to perform even the fist technical screening interviews - i felt sorry for a lot of them. empty promises to employees, promising them higher performance score ratings if they participate in hiring interviews. result, people leave their busy project to review cvs, interview people and provide feedback. all for nothing. again, thank my almighty god I did not stay there for long. it does not matter if you complete a lot of hiring interviews in a year. none of that will count towards your performance ratings. very unethical practice imho. leadrship has full control on the perfomance reviews system and policies. imho hr is mere spectator. why not be honest with your staff? your performance on the bench depends very much on how much you are liked by your manager and their friends, not anything else. felt very cult-like. department is focused on maximum billability than developing skills and long term careers. respect yourself and get get hired anywhere else than here.

Pros

Varied client work — Different clients and project types, which keeps things interesting. Real project mobility — You can move between projects when you advocate for yourself (within reason). Approachable leadership — Senior leaders are open to conversations if you reach out. Good development resources — Plenty of training and growth opportunities if you take advantage of them. Strong teams — Colleagues are smart, capable, and great to work with. Entrepreneurial environment — New ideas are encouraged, and there’s room to take initiative.

Cons

Long hours vary by project — Like most any professional job, some engagements require extended hours for prolonged periods, but work–life balance really depends on the client and team. Additional internal responsibilities — Depending on level, there can be a significant amount of firm‑support work outside of client delivery. Domain alignment not guaranteed — You may not always be staffed on projects that match your domain expertise. Coaching alignment constraints — Coaching relationships are tied to domain, which limits flexibility in choosing formal mentors. Long engagements (sometimes) — Some projects run for long durations or through multiple extensions. It can provides stability but may reduce variety in client and project experience depending on what you’re looking for.
