Pros

Decent starting salary ($38,000-$40,000) if you have no experience and no college degree and the ability to make 7 or 8 thousand more a year through commission (This is nothing to depend on, Some months it's only $100, others it's $1,000 or 0). Also if the branch preforms well (and you don't screw up and make anyone mad) you can receive additional cash (maybe 1-3 thousand) at the end of the year at the managers discretion. Also there is a paid training period of 2-3 months while you get your series 6 & 63 and (in New York) your New York Life and Health.

Cons

You have to SELL. Branches have quotas and after a year+ if you are not meeting your branches personal goals you can come up for review and possibly get fired or downgraded (or upgraded strangely enough). Also the incentive/commission program has caps that promote new customer acquisition rather then fostering relationships with customers creating a "revolving door" environment.
