Pros
Great coworkers, good food, Madison is a really cool city.
Cons
Work-life balance is terrible. Expectations for customer support are unrealistic and there is support for challenges beyond your expertise is hit or miss. Upper management has made it very clear that they do not have their employees best interests at heart, the latest example being the push for employees to return to campus in the midst of a pandemic with virtually no evidence that productivity has declined since allowing employees to work from home. The response to parents who are uncertain they would be able to find child care was "take a pay cut and work part time or take a leave of absence, but no work from home." My experience has been that the personal fulfillment of helping healthcare systems is not what it was made out to be by recruiters, with most of the job being trying to find out why things are broken or how to make something work in a way other than it was designed for, and not actually partaking in improving patient health or the patient experience.
