- Low starting salary - they need to keep up with the market and minimum wage!
- Really Long Hours, I did 8.15 til 6.30ish most nights..
- Working here made my anxiety/depression 10x worse than it has ever been, constantly stressed and paranoid and had to go back on medication.
- Very Corporate - I have worked in corporate environments but Hays is very very corporate, liked a friends post on linkedin (works at a competitor agency in a different sector) and was basically told to remove my like as i was making myself look bad....
- Probation was ended early despite making 300% effort. I went into this role fresh from uni with not alot of sales exp, plus was brought in to help expand into a new area so was really thrown in at the deep end. Was told after 4 months of working super hard (considering having no previous sales experience), bringing on 5/6 new clients and a large number of candidates.. that it wasn't working out and they were letting me go. Completely ruined my self-confidence and nearly quit recruitment entirely. But now im in a new recruitment role which has restored my faith in recruitment and massively boosted my confidence. Definitely a blessing in disguise!
