Pros

HealthTap cares more about the real user experience than what they “want users to do”. I value that a lot. A true “customer-first mindset” is less common than you might expect at a lot of startups (I've interred and worked at places where this was not the case.) Here there’s a company-wide effort to create an amazing user experience. In health, this is a lot more challenging than in some other industries. This "amaze the user" perspective is central to the culture. For example: everyone QAs the product and actually uses it; product ideas can come from anyone; and the company actually prioritizes customer care (think about how many companies today don't publicize support emails). If you really care about what you build, and want to build something yore proud of, this is one of the better companies anywhere to work for.

Cons

There’s always more to be done than hours in the day, but the company does seem to be finding a pace and rhythm that works well. I see projects being given the time they need, and the company is bringing on more talent every day. Overall, I have witnessed a lot of improvement in workload balance over the past several months. Don't get me wrong, there's still a "sense of urgency" about everything, it's just managed better. IMO: like in any growth-stage startup, showing a little patience and lending a hand can yield big rewards.

Pros

Great product, lots of interesting deals in the works that will propel the company forward. Current leadership seems to have a good grasp on things. Pay is good, wlb is better than most.

Cons

There could be more HR initiatives, but that can also be a pro at times.

Pros

In my role, I work one on one with the CEO. I want to stress what a inspirational leader he is. It is a lot of hard work, but whenever I feel overwhelmed, Ron is supportive helping me strike a good work/life balance. He has an 'open-door' policy that many CEOs wouldn't even consider, where any employee can talk to him about issues they are having, which is great and truly lives up to the openness and transparency value. The people I work with are amazing, and I count many of then as close friends. Being surrounded by such positive energy and brilliant people from such diverse backgrounds makes me excited to come to work everyday. I enjoy spending time with them in the office, but also love our excursions to Santa Cruz to surf or going on coffee runs. We have cool perks and a fun culture. Part of my job is planning company events like picnics (we have the best griller!) and company movie nights. We also always have a plethora of yummy and healthy snacks. One of my favorite perks is the subsidized gym membership. It's great to take a break to go work out and come back to the office feeling energized.

Cons

-Not enough office space...we are constantly having to conduct interviews outside or taking calls in the hallway. -Good communication can often be an issue in a fast-paced environment. -Personally, I'm not a fan of the open office space. I find that I often get distracted.
