Pros

- Smart and talented coworkers, you can learn a lot from your peers. - Good remote work flexibility and decent work-life balance (depending on your manager).

Cons

HubSpot advertises tuition reimbursement as a benefit, but it’s completely fake. It no longer exists. Leadership will always find an excuse to deny your request, no matter how relevant the course is to your job. They’ll tell you to find something else internally even if it doesn't align with your role or goals. It feels like they just want to check a box that they “offer development benefits” without actually supporting employee growth. Super disappointing, especially when you’re genuinely trying to upskill and do better work for the company. If you’re joining HubSpot expecting real career investment, prepare to be let down.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re happy to hear you enjoy working with your peers, our remote offering and more. We’re concerned by your comment that tuition reimbursement is “fake” or “no longer exists” as this is a benefit that so many HubSpotters use each year. You’re correct, we are strict that the course must help develop you for the role, you’re in, but usually that isn’t an issue. If you’re having trouble getting approval for a course that relates directly to your role, please connect with your HRBP or your team’s VP and we can look into this further and find a solution. Additionally, we strive to provide programming and offerings within the Marketing Team for all of our employees’ development and enrichment. If you have ideas for guest speakers or team trainings, please share that information with your VP or the Chief of Staff to the CMO. Developing our employees is a top priority, and we want to make sure you’re growing at HubSpot. Thanks for all that you do, and for sharing your feedback. - The Marketing Leadership Team

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
