Pros

innovative projects - usually interesting projects to get involved with or you can easily come up with ideas and execute them if they're approved good pay - difficult to find better pay within the Arizona area good benefits - great insurance programs flexible work hours/schedule - used to be relaxed in regards to work from home and leaving times at work not sure about now with new CEO RTO mandate. It was so relaxed that many of my teammates including my manager used to take early meetings while driving into work.

Cons

Seniority based promotions - how long have you been at your current grade is level is all the matters period. Nobody cares if you get extra degrees, certifications, etc. In fact, that's actually too much work to manage, just stop trying and coast. Bad managers - they just want to show up and go home and do not want to manage your career growth. In fact, I was told by multiple managers that getting certifications like lean six sigma, etc. are a waste of time. Mundane day to day work - it's just the same work on repeat over and over for NPIs, do this assessment, order this stuff and set this up, validate, transfer, repeat; mind numbingly boring. If you have advanced degrees you'll also probably the work boring; I could have done this job after graduating undergraduate
