Pros

You can pick side projects that interests you and go after them. Also management is really caring depending on the boss you get. They are supportive of your career path and really want you to succeed. For example, I had an idea that would be great in the market place. As an intern it would be hard at other companies but Intel and management, expects you to take on responsiblities and go after them. There is no holding hands because everyone is busy and they hire you with confidence that you will hit the floor running. This is a very technical company but a smart person should be able to figure it out. A lot of people in our group telecommute which makes work/life balance better.

Cons

This is a big company and it is easy to get lost. Make sure you are a key part of any project that is going on to stay involved. Meetings can be time consuming. Even as an intern, there were days where I would be in meetings all day and could not have a a chance to do my own work. This means you have to be really efficient and productive with your time because you might just take work home. It is hard to get facetime when a lot of people telecommute and work in different sites at different states. Make sure you get face time when you need it

Pros

Pay and benefits were good. Vacation, sick time, holidays and sabbatical are good.

Cons

Intel has fallen for the DEI scam. Before DEI the company hired employess based on skills and experience. Today they only care about checking the boxes, they hire based on race and gender idiologies. There are numerous cases where those very DEI hires caused accidents, missed processes, and/or were simply unreliable employees. But because they fit that DEI box they never were fired or even given warnings.
