Pros
- Team are good people - Pay is decent
Cons
Insane workload, awful systems in place for trying to get anything done, they live and die by metrics so you're always fighting to keep your head above water, there's no way to balance your workload because everything must be done immediately. Because the workload is so constant there's never time to sit down and take time to improve things, you're just playing whack-a-mole with issues and it's never enough. Systemically there's just so many things wrong with how it's set up. Most people have to work well over their assigned hours to not get overwhelmed by the work, and it's so normalized everyone just accepts and jokes about it. Every department is mostly out for themselves. Management are absent. Department heads rotate regularly, but it just means the person in charge has limited experience and they can't provide any experienced knowledge. Leaving earlier this year was one of the better decisions I ever made, it took a serious toll on my mental health.
