Immature and/or virtually nonexistent leadership permeates the cultural fabric of many business groups throughout the organization. The landscape is virtually homogeneous and lacks real diversity. Minorities and mature workers will not do well here. The few women in senior management roles secure their positions by undermining top performers and independent thinkers. Individuals failing to fit into the fold are often pushed out of their departments and/or the organization altogether. Those who survive are either “valued” employees or management clones.
