Pros

Interesting and challenging role which is exactly what I wanted and expected when I joined. Great people and very supportive - people always make a great company Fantastic line manager who is very supportive despite being in a different country. I had worked for Smiths Medical for 17 years who were part of the Smiths Group but who were acquired by ICU Medical on Jan 2022. So I was ultra happy to be able to come back and join the Smiths family.

Cons

Can take time to get approval for things but once you know the process its easier

Pros

Salaries and benefits are great. The company purpose and products in the threat detection industry is also inspiring.

Cons

The leadership team is all relatively new to the industry and there is an underlying contentious feeling. It is extremely difficult to get things done through all the red tape and there is significant apprehension in the approval process from leadership. Leadership rules with an iron fist, employees walk on eggshells and the president is inaccessible and operates with a closed door. A huge turnover has occurred under the new president and without an operating system to capture historical knowledge, the information walks out with the employees who leave the organization creating a crater and ultimately a burden for existing employees and significant difficulty in onboarding for new employees. Very much a "sink or swim/ figure it out" on boarding process with little to no knowledge transfer or training. There is also significant deflection and blaming when it comes to decision making. Requests from management for the same information input into various different formats creating redundancy and time spent on non-value add tasks is a normal part of everyday. Business reviews typically require multiple meetings to gain approval to move forward on simple tasks, contract reviews for awards are 30+ days and every task is micro-managed creating delays and customer frustration.
