Horrible experience

Pros

Some very good and understanding customers that appreciated the work and effort put in by a small number of committed staff

Cons

Terrible leadership Awful atmosphere in Dunstable and London offices Crazy expectations/targets that were never achievable and only ever increased MD that was very comfortable and confident lying to both staff and customers Incredibly low morale amongst staff Back stabbing was rife

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our Glassdoor page. The company has gone through a lot of change in 2015 and we do have aggressive targets, which may not be for everyone. Honesty and transparency is one of our Leadership Principles and is critical to our success. Our Leadership Principles are integral to everything we do and continue to be driven by both our CEO and myself, as well as the Senior Management Team, since they were introduced. We are also governed by strict industry codes, including ISO. Morale and culture are really important to us; I want to ensure that our team always feels valued. I know that we have undergone a significant evolution over the last couple of years and when you expand as rapidly as we have, this does bring new sets of challenges, as well as success. But I want us to continue to address ways to improve team morale and now that the integration of four companies into one is thankfully complete, we have the right people in the right positions to support us into 2016 and beyond. With a clearer focus and less distractions, I’m confident that we will continue to take big steps forward, thanks to the great team we have and the work we will undertake to support the team and our customers, from across the business. I’m sorry Empowered didn’t prove to be the best place you have worked and I really value the time you have taken to share your feedback.

Great Place to Work

Pros

If your ambitious and want a challenging role with a growing and changing business then Empowered is the place for you. In my time with the company I felt like I could really make a positive contribution. There is also a great new office and two parties a year to say thanks!

None that I can think of.

Pros

* Cannot think of anything positive

Cons

* Autocratic leadership with no direction,employee morale was extremely low, with no benefits. Salary was deducted if you were sick for even a day. Company has serious cashflow problems and an extremely high staff turnover, can remember atleast 15 people leaving within first week of being recruited.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you didn’t have the working experience we strive for, that we hope will be the case for all employees. Having gone through a rapid period of expansion and acquisitions which brought challenges to us as a small business, we have recognised that we needed to make changes and improvements. We have made a number of changes over the last year, to ensure that we can try to provide the right level of support and benefits to our team: * We now offer a pension scheme to all staff and introduced health insurance in 2015, along with providing childcare vouchers where applicable * In line with most leading companies in the UK, we offer a full sick pay policy to support all employees * Training is formally encouraged and financially supported. Since 2015, we have supported a number of training programmes, including ACCA training, MBAs, Prince 2, Scrum, Cisco Nuggets and vendor engineering training, as well as running informal, mentoring programmes * We did go through a highly acquisitive phase, which brings with it consolidation and changes to teams and structure, although we have never had 15 people leave our business at once. Since 2015 and the period of change now being behind us, staff retention has improved significantly and we are continuing to look at new ways to improve * Regarding the office environment, we have been very aware that the office was not going to be perfect for both today and the future, given our growth. We began communicating our plans for refurbishment and the expansion of our office since last summer, so that we can provide a much improved working space and social areas. The work is now mid-way to completion, with the first phase to be complete by the beginning of May. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, it is helpful and enables us to continue to improve.
