Too much work pressure You've to resolve 20-30 ticket per day Managers and VP will expect you to work 12hrs a day And also ask you to work on Saturday and Sunday without any extra pay So overall aming one of the worst place to work in.

- Local - Great 401k matching - Opportunity to deep dive into databases and big data metrics - Lunch and snack perks

- The more obscure engineering teams may be disorganized, so opt for product-to-consumer as much as possible - On my team, management chain was disorganized and consistently unsure of the purpose of a project. Even with explanation from myself, manager, and a more "senior" coworker, the rest of the team failed to understand the long-term significance of projects. - Compensation was mid and strict compared to the market - My direct manager often forget the strategy for product scoping

Pros

Perfect workplace with a possibility of full remote work. The project itself is amazing, tasks are interesting and challenging. The atmosphere in Serbia entity is great. Also I should notice that engineering teams work under a supervision of not simply managers but engineering managers. My manager has high engineering skills and it’s pretty cool and easy to work with manager who knows everything about technical aspects. Salary is above the market, benefits are great.

Cons

I have not found any cons for 2 and half years working in the company.

- Good mid level management - Have good perks

Cons

- Micro Management is a keyword in fivetran. Leadership want to check everything that an engineer is doing. they are more worries about measurements instead of value addition. - There are multiple processes introduced which doesnt make any sense, no one is able to provide a valid justification but still everyone is forced to follow them. - Innovation is killed in the name of Data driven. Senior leadership has forgotten the full form of POC. before POC they wants the implementation plan. my super boss and above actually asked for it. - Their idea of gathering data is to micromanage and not make decisions. Senior leadership is not worried about the problems and challenges at ground level. they just want to ensure that the data is looking good. they are OK if its artificially generated. - Often times senior leadership behaves likes dictator and would ensure that decisions are forced on IC and Managers. they dont bother about informing them before publishing publicly - Fivetran has become a place of micro management, we have heard of giving freedom in work. here leadership even teach people how to write a slack message. they even want us to control how to talk, how to greet, how to think, how to not think. I am not able to think about anything that they dont want to manage. - Leadership wants to measure the happiness of people using just a survey, nothing has changed in the organization but since the surveys are becoming too regular on top of that leadership forces people to fill them, Employees just fill it for the sake of not bugging them. Leadership considers that as a good thing and celebrate it.

Exercise caution before considering joining this team. Initially, they may appear good and reasonable, but their true intentions become evident over time. They have a habit of periodically terminating employees, choosing targets at will. The testing team, in particular, may seem busy but lacks substantial work. Their credibility is questionable, as they frequently fail to uphold their promises. Senior management seems disconnected and will go to great lengths to stifle dissenting voices. If you seek a peaceful and stable work environment, this may not be the right choice, as decisions change abruptly, and even top performers can suddenly see their performance decline when the company decides to terminate them. The manager in question displays unprofessional conduct and, in the event you become a target, may adversely affect your professional life.
