Pros

get to learn the basics of the market. gives exposure to clients

Cons

The company still gives me an uncomfortable and eerily feeling, even after l left the company. I am now on the client side, and ICIS approaches my firm for sales. I subconsciously get very emotional- in a bad way- likely because my bad experience had been bad at ICIS. - Very toxic manager-subordinate culture. This culture prevails in major offices (London, Singapore) -HR is not supportive of mental health, contrary to the company's official line, HR warned angrily telling me not to resign, despite the official recognition that the manager had been misbehaving and attacking my personal trauma. -Lack of support from senior management on the well-being of employees -In the PRA industry, ICIS is well-known to be poor in sales, market development, and marketing. They do not know what they are doing to help companies or listen to customers' needs. -Envy and jealousy are intense in the market development & sales team. They will put down achievers and attempt to steal credits. -Turnover is high in the UK team, because of low pay, and burnout. Managers rant if employees want higher pay. -Meanwhile, managers that put subordinates down are also looking outside ICIS for opportunities.

Pros

- You can hold on to a position for a decade with sub-par performance! - Good entry-level job

Cons

All the positive reviews you see about ICIS in London, China and Singapore were true three to five years ago. It used to be a good place to work but that has changed drastically. Unfortunately, it has gone from average to bad for most employees across sales, marketing, analytics, events, product management and consulting. The departments are all lead by absolutely directionless middle management that is too scared to make any decision. Even the most minute detail has to be approved by London. And London doesn't care. I bet that ICIS HR will comment on my post and state that their internal employee satisfaction score is high. That's true because only the most complacent team members will stay on for decades. Globally, the company can't hold on to quality staff. Complete brain drain. Compensation is a joke. In response to this post, ICIS HR will also claim that they create the psychological safety to voice any complaints. That is also true - but they never act on anything. Ever. I have zero trust in the new CEO. He started his stint with a hiring freeze but told us it is just an IT problem. Absolute joker.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review - I'm sorry that your experience is not a positive one. I respond personally to all the reviews, they don't come from HR and nor is there any attempt by management to encourage people to post positive comments. I'm also happy to talk you through our Employee Satisfaction Results - when you examine the detail we score high levels of satisfaction from staff who have only been here a short time to those who have been with us a while. Having said that it is important that everyone is happy and we are working very hard to respond to feedback and to continue to make changes - I note you are a current employee - please do get in touch and I can talk you through the plans for 2024.

Decline in culture and compensation

Pros

- Great entry-level job to enter the industry. - Great retirement job if you want to slow things down. - They hold on to people, regardless the performance. - very relaxing job for mid-career break - people are friendly

Cons

- They hold on to people, regardless the performance. - Management thinks employees are stupid. Hiring freeze disguised as HR IT problem. New benefit and promotion structure sold as an improvement although it is mathematically worse. New bonus structure only marginally correlated to individual performance (so why should anyone try?) - a lot of lifers. People are glued to their seat for 30 years. There was a time when I thought this was a benefit. Turns out, it just means nobody is willing to improve or try something new. - Cut in social outings spending, cut in discretionary sales budget (can't even attend industry events anymore), cut in editorial budget to meet contacts. No budget for booths at conferences - Meanwhile, management tells us how great we are doing. Stock price is at all-time-high, CEO compensation soars, revenue at record high - No effective management outside London. Real decision makers are nowhere to be seen in Singapore. Absolutely void of any direction. - low salary only attracts low-quality staff. Low benefits means that only those who can't get a better job stay at ICIS. Over time, this has now led to a low-performance culture.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review - I am sorry to read your comments. I note you are a current employee and I would love the chance to talk to you so that I can personally respond in full. I hope the opportunity of talking would allow me to give some clarification and context to some of the comments you make here. ICIS's recent employee satisfaction survey underlined that we have a psychologically safe organisation where people did feel able to provide feedback directly so I encourage you to reach out. ICIS continues to perform well as a business and we are always prudent and thoughtful on our investment choices - but there are often options. I hope to speak to you soon
