Pros

Small, nimble company that encourages entrepreneurial thinking and doing. Everyone pitches in to get the job done and we enjoy a great sense of purpose, coupled with alot of humor and good will. Leadership is thoughtful and caring and your voice matters to them. I feel respected as a person and as a professional. Super smart and supportive colleagues. This is a great place to be.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but at a small company you are always closer to the bottom line, which brings it's own kind of pressure and motivation. It also means that your actions can have a great and immediate impact on the company, which can be quite awesome.

Too Political and Cheap

Pros

Job security, motivated teams, flexible scheduling

Cons

Leadership is extremely political and is full of yes-men. Many decisions they make causes stress on teams because they are unrealistic. Pay disparity between team members is also very trashy. Leadership also complains to employees on other contracts that they cannot seem to get qualified people hired because they pay so little.

Pros

Good management team on most contracts. Leadership team has a good outlook for the company. This is a growing company and it's growing pretty quickly so they are trying to find their footing. There are really talented people working on their contracts, and the leadership team trusts them to handle the day to day and make sure the needs are being met. They say they work on commercial projects, but they are mainly a government contractor focusing on DOD and Military programs. You do your work and get paid, and pretty much get left alone.

Cons

The pay and vacation policy is pretty lackluster. Senior positions are on the low end, and you get very little vacation time, that you must accrue. A number of the positions are remote, so they say you shouldn't complain about the vacation because you get to work from home. The max you can accrue is 4 weeks after 5 years of being with the company. There is not a ton of room for advancement within the company, and there is quite a bit of nepotism. There is also no clear training/career path guidance. If you want to take training to advance your professional growth you have to go find it because it's likely there isn't another person who has done it in the past. The focus is definitely on the contract you work on, not you as a person. You are definitely your own advocate and have to voice what you want for your career. The company really isn't organized to grow in a traditional manner, so do not expect to become a leader within the organization if that is your goal.
