Sophisticated company lacks maturity

Pros

I actually really enjoyed the physical job. Working in manufacturing made things go quickly and there was room to experiment.

Cons

The owner lacks maturity and it left no room for growth for the employee or the company. Jason Cases promotes sophistication as a brand but Jason treated even his best employees like they were high school students and/or they should be thanking him for letting them work there. He would obsess about employees staying clocked in for an extra 5-10 minutes if they weren't actually working. There was no faith and trust in his employees. He wanted everyone to feel like they were working at a high end tech company (providing a weight room, company lunches, rides in his tesla and a fancy break room) but gave no personal feedback/positive reinforcement, benefits, bonuses and made employees feel disposable. He required a lot of overtime (with threats that it's his right as an employer to make you stay and/or he can fire you if you don't). I actually enjoyed working overtime for the money however he demanded it in a way that made me resentful. I tried really hard to improve this company and in the end I had to leave. I don't recommend working here. No room for growth. Just frustration and a company that's going in circles.

Pros

Decent pay for VERY simple work however the work environment (not the work itself) demands more pay to hold employess unless you do not mind being subject to being belittled. Work is overall rewarding if, and i mean IF, you are left to do your job w/o being judged by an overzealous owner. When owner steps away from the entire production aspect of the job, the work itself is great and rewarding, however you are unlikely to work in a scenario like this as the company cannot seem to hold employees long enough to get to a self sustaining environment that can run w/o the owner looking over everyone's shoulder.

Cons

Owner comes off as insulting/belittling/condescending add in any other word that describes a way you should not treat people. Hours are very difficult to predict do to the sporadic nature of management. Some days production will get completely shut down due to very minute issues that completely irrationally upset the owner. For someone expecting consistent work this can be a bit nerve wracking as you don't know if you are going to get a full weeks pay any given week depending on the 'problems' that happen throughout said week. Staff is constantly overturning for the exact same reason. Company will give a false sense of caring about employees' well being, but it was made very clear to me that that is not case (no pun intended). Employees are viewed as dispensable from what I gathered in the short time I was there.

De-Bunking These Facts

Pros

There is certainly a lot to learn.

Cons

Clarification is needed on a few topics. Firstly, the room that housed the High Powered laser equipment, which on occasion does catch the material on fire, did not have a fire detector/ alarm in it when I started working there. They do not have consideration for the constant movement/standing of the staff, i.e. another employee had to bring in their OWN mat to stand on for 5+ hours every day, as none were provided. There is NO MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) Binder for any of the raw materials or components involved in the manufacture of their products, (Including the foam, which is heated and exudes fumes and smoke.) There is also no eye-washing station, and the first aid kit is a joke, only replenished upon reminder by whoever did the inventory at the time. This kit had band-aids, years-old alcohol swabs, and two ancient sealed boxes for I think 'major wound bandages' and itch cream. There is no guard on the table saw - which isn't an actual table saw, but a jury-rigged hand saw attached to a (I kid you not) ping-pong table. Not to mention the feeling of danger for many of the female employees. Regardless of intention, inappropriate behavior on the CEO's part is NOT conducive to a safe work environment, and likely the reason their turn-over rate is so high. For example, he humped a woman's car (an employee) thinking it was funny, when they were the only two at the office at that time. That is NOT OK.
