You’d think a company that sells a loyalty program would know how important it is to retain their employees. Or more importantly, how to value them. There is irony in how little loyalty they have towards us. Bean bags and free fruit in the office? How about treating your employees like they are people and not computers. It’s not the same company I joined a year ago. We’ve been made to feel as though we cannot take AL or sick days due to us not hitting target. Reward is little when we do. To be quite honest, I feel like a cog in a machine and it saddens me to say this because when I first joined, it was a company I was proud to work for with a great culture. They say they care about us as individuals, but the only time they see us as an individual is when we miss target and get scrutinised, put under a microscope and threatened with dismissal. I’ve seen employees with proven skills and attitude (who have often been used as an example of what a great employee looks like) be dismissed, and it really saddens and feels irrational to me. If the ‘People Team’ carry on treating their employees the way they are now, it is not looking good. The only ‘People’ they seem to care about, are themselves.
