Pros

Before TT acquisition, lots of support for lots of diverse groups and open atmosphere. My coworkers are still caring and supportive - as would have been expected from a previously inclusive company. Lots of us are neurodiverse and share openly our experiences. A lot of my colleagues are hard working and passionate for ecology; they care and still manage to offer good service to clients. All of my colleagues are inclusive, we work across offices fairly regularly and entire ecology team is generally close knit.

Cons

Recent developments in American politics have caused RPS to pause ERGs and stop advertising inclusivity due to pressure from Tetra Tech. Concerns for US govt contracts have somehow made work harder for UK employees of often discriminated against characteristics such as neurodiversity, ethnicity and queer identities. Communication on the topic has been flimsy and constant reminders of their abidance to UK Equality Act 2010 is used as an cop out for their behaviour.

Exploits Employees

Pros

Provides a good opportunity to see how a company should not be run and how employees should not be treated.

Cons

Employees are overworked and harshly underpaid. Working long days and weekends is an expectation. The few training that is provided is frequently pushed off when clients cause extra work. Project managers don't ask employees how long tasks will take before promising deliveries to clients, then expect employees to complete tasks. Every minute of your time is tracked and often written off since project managers and accounting don't understand how long the work actually takes and how much they should have budgeted for projects. Junior staff does the majority of the work, but senior staff is given credit for work and client is billed as if senior staff did work. Salaries were frozen and then cut 20% while company spent $20 million in cash to acquire another company. Company management cares about themselves while exploiting their employees every chance they have to make an extra buck.

Pros

Good benefits, including paid insurance. Snacks, drinks, and meals occasionally.

Cons

Constant chaos and finger pointing. No accountability at any level in this company. Be ready to be thrown under the bus for others mistakes and errors. This place feels like high school all over again with the bullying and clickish management staff. Most are miserable & drag you down with them. Sink/swim mentality. They work the good people until they collapse. Won’t listen to skilled workers because they love to do things the old way which keeps them in a constant state of chaos.
