Pros

Serves mostly as the first workplace in this very difficult environment for anyone that needs sponsorship after their degrees. You get "Body-shopped" into Highmark which is a large healthcare player and you can ramp up with Healthcare Payer experience.

Cons

There has been significant lay offs end of every year (Year after year). Most universities have now black-listed SDLC from hiring their graduates after college due to this. Its an irony that there were a bunch of fresh Grads hired in October only to let go in flocks end of December. Only employees that need sponsorship remain in the organization due to the difficult Visa environment and SDLC exploits them as there is no "flight risk" and take them for granted. It is a pity that Glassdoor doesn't entertain an option of negative rating or providing "no rating" due to which SDLC's rating has been going down gradually rather than taking a significant dip. Key leaders have deserted the sinking ship . Please DON'T join unless you don't have any other option.

SDLC-WORST COMPANY TO WORK WITH

Pros

No pros at all. Dependent mosly on only one client. Hiring and firing and lay off is no big deal for this company. Money is their most priority not the employees who work hard for them.

Cons

-I worked on client side for years and my project ended this dec end on client side and I came back to SDLC. i have good reviews from the client and my performance review from my SDLC manager is also good. I am a full time employee here but within 2 days of losing my client they laid me. They cudn't even keep their full time employees for 2 days and we worked for them for years. -On dec 4, 21 employees were laid off not because of their performance but because of incapablity of the management. -No pre-notice of it. No compensation of salary. Just left us with nothing. Atleast if they had informed earlier we could have started searching job.

Pros

I really liked my coworkers while at SDLC Partners. Their recruiting team does a good job of finding intelligent, genuine people. The company knows this and really encourages employees to help each other and collaborate.

Cons

- SDLC Partners is a glorified Temp Agency, not a consulting firm - Extreme employee turnover - like 40% ~ 50%. During orientation one of Management's goals was to get it under 30%... - Vast majority of projects are with one client, Highmark, who now owns a considerable share of SDLC (not a good thing for SDLC employees... trust me) - SDLC does not actually value your time or career goals unless you are paying them (ie not an employee). My client manager asked me to babysit her kids, and apparently SDLC Partners has no issue with this. There are also very experienced, senior management level professionals who are spending the best years of their career working in a study carrel, transcribing excel documents...
