Pros

- Great people but some can be robotic and only act according to SOPs - Flexible working hours with hybrid mode. That said, T&S (Trading part of the business) might have mandated days in office and timed arrivals because you'll need to support the traders. Not all job functions have this mandatory arrangements though. - Other benefits are ok, not exceptional and have become worse in the last 2 years. 18 days annual leave in Asia, for a bit of insights, if you first start, this will increase with every year of service.

Cons

- Rollercoaster rides: Poor job security of you're from more expensive hubs in Asia like Singapore because most likely your job won't be there in the next few years. Lots of reorganisations every year for different entities/ product lines. It sucks to have to train people to take over your job. Therefore, internal networking is important because it's more like "who you know" in a competitive reorganisation landscape. Don't buy in the GTKY culture, I find it surface at best. - If you're in Singapore and not Chinese, expect to be left out of conversations sometimes and they don't really care if you don't speak the language. English is still the professional language but there are many people who will built rapport through Mandarin. It's safe if you stick to expats but that's not the point of an international country let alone an MNC isn't it.

Pros

1) Great teamate, most of them are very intelligent and hardworking 2) pay is decent if we are expected to work only on normal working hours

Cons

1) nowdays due to cost cutting, a person are expected to do 2.5 person job. 2) not enough manpower causes staff to unfortunately back to back work late close to everyday for extended period of time. 3) high stress causing people to fall sick which lead to more workload to other team member. 4) people resign and not being replaced properly. 5) pay and benefit are no longer attractive considering the workload and hours spend 6) staff working late affecting their family relationship 7) all these while the ceo and high level management enjoying benefit increase in millions of usd which dwarf the cost cutting measures. Ridiculous.

Shell

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Strong work-life balance with reasonable hours and flexibility that's rare in the energy sector. The compensation package is competitive, and benefits are comprehensive—health coverage, retirement matching, and other perks are solid. As a major multinational, Shell provides access to interesting technical projects and exposure to global operations.

Cons

Decision-making can be painfully slow due to multiple layers of approval and corporate bureaucracy. Even straightforward technical decisions often require extensive documentation and sign-offs, which can be frustrating when you want to move quickly on projects. The organizational structure sometimes prioritizes process over progress.
