Pros

The work is interesting with an impressive team of former academics and researchers. Truly global work on projects that cover various industries (mining, energy, manufacturing) and jurisdictions (LatAm, APAC, MENA) with complex issues and problems. I would use the company to gain experience but I wouldn't stick around for too long.

Cons

Strategic direction of the company was confused - not good at articulating how they differed from its competitors. It may have improved under their new CEO. Line management was very poor. Don't expect too much support as a junior member of staff.

Pros

I worked at Veracity for more than 7 years and it was a life changing experience. At Veracity you will: -Gain deep knowledge on a multitude of industries like energy, mining, telecoms and hospitality -Work with a wide range of clients including multinationals, private equity and law firms -Travel internationally on a routine basis for client visits and on-the-ground research such as site visits or in-person interviews with local sources -Have direct access to senior management who will go out of their way to provide guidance on any project and care deeply about career development of staff My time at Veracity was truly a great experience. They treated me well and even helped me get an MBA at Columbia University. The only reason I left was a true once in a lifetime opportunity that I wanted to pursue, but I leave feeling more like an alumni with access to a terrific network of existing and past employees than just a 'former employee'.

Cons

This isn't necessarily a con, but be prepared to work long hours. This job is a mix of management, strategic, political risk and PR consulting all rolled into one. Which means at the end of the day you work for clients who pay well but expect the best. Rarely did I think the job was "high-pressure" but it is "high stakes" with client deal sizes ranging from millions to billions. As such, it just isn't a 9-5, but the pay off is immense if you have a high intellectual curiosity and like working alongside A+ talent.
