From his start as an architecture graduate, Poh Khai worked across various industries before pivoting to an investing career in GIC. At this year’s Columbia Business School Private Equity Conference, Girish, GIC's Deputy Head of the Integrated Strategies Group, discussed his views on recent trends and emerging issues in private equity. "Our flexible capital and the Integrated Strategies Group's flexible investment directive allow us to invest across public and private asset markets and the capital structure. We can move nimbly into areas where we find the risk-return profile most attractive." He also shared some tips on how students can drive their career growth as they start their investment careers. "Be open to investing across a diverse set of areas before specialising in any specific theme or asset class. The diverse experience is valuable especially in early stages of your career.
