I applied through university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Nov 2012
Interview
First round interview was held on campus. The interview consisted of a half hour long case interview. It was a pretty straight forward analysis of comparing two different marketing plans. Final round interviews are on-campus in Richmond or McLean. They consisted of 3 interviews in the morning - 2 case and 1 behavioral. The cases were a little bit more difficult than the first one, and both of them were relevant to the Business Analyst position. The behavioral consisted of questions along the lines of "tell me about a time when..." There's an afternoon case interview that only some of the candidates are called back for as well. These interviews are typically with more senior level people. While the recruiters insist you get kept around for the afternoon interview because they want to know more about you, the only people I know who got offers were the ones who were interviewed in the afternoon.
They never ask you about Capital One or expect you to know things about the credit card industry.

Question 1
None of the cases are honestly that hard, but the interview will keep asking questions and dig further and further. Subsequently, the end of the case studies can be frustrating.
1 online assessment followed by Power Day with 1 product and 2 cases. Power Day was quite tricky with concepts being combined and tested in different forms. Staying calm and taking in every word is crucial in keeping up with the casing.

I thought I did really well, but they emailed me back in a few hours, rejecting me. This was for the online test before the power day, and they didn't even give me a score.
