I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2021
Interview
The entire process took a little over a month.
0) Resume screening. Make sure to apply with a referral, ideally from someone senior in the product organization.
1) 45 min first round interview with a Google PM/APM. I received analytical questions around a particular Google product (no need to be intimately familiar with it).
2) Written assignment and onsite. The virtual onsite consists of 3, 45 min rounds with Google PMs/APMs covering technical, analytical, and product sense questions. Can't describe the written assignment in detail, but I received a pretty standard prompt in my opinion.
3) Final decision!

Question 1
Cannot describe in detail due to NDA. Google likes to center their questions around their products (again, no need to be intimately familiar with any of them), but they may also base their questions on common apps/services that people use.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Dec 2025
Interview
applied through internal referral rejected after r2
r1: product sense, a couple general questions: what is a good pm and how do you embody those traits + 1 case question: design an app for flight experiences
r2 (2 rounds back to back): didn't do well on the first one (design an app for launching autonomous buses for public transportation) , second one went well (explain websites vs apps for ppl who are not technically adept + design a fridge for people who are colorblind)--> rejected

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Google (Zürich)
Interview
Many delays and waiting times. Outsourced most of their HR staff. For simple rejection, you wait months. A lengthy process with too much competition and high expectations. The selection process was very poorly conducted in terms of many people going through unnecessary interviews.

Question 1
Questions regarding product management and marketing aspects within the favourite daily mobile app
Only had a first round interview. I was just asked one long product design question (wasn't what I was expecting at all and also didn't follow the attached interview prep pdf in the email)
