I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google
Interview
The on-site interview process consisted of a job talk, two research interviews, two technical coding interviews, and a behavioral interview (the "googlyness" interview). My recruiter did a good job of explaining what to expect, and my interviewers were well-prepared. It was certainly stressful, but overall a positive experience.

Question 1
Research interview questions were mostly along the lines of "Tell me more about why you made this experiment design decision in your project" and "How would this connect to {possible extension}"
3 technical interview and 1 behavioral interview. There was 1 leet code and two ml interviews. I had a recruiter call before the interview where they shared the details of the interviews.
I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Coding interviews, research interviews, job talks, and behavioral interviews. The behavioral interviews were standard, designed to assess cultural fit, teamwork, and professional conduct. The coding assessments followed the standard LeetCode style, focusing on problem-solving and algorithmic thinking on whiteboard. Interviews are quite professional and warm. They asked questions based on my research.
First some basic introduction about yourself, and from each topic or research direction, you are asked more details. Finally they asked more about LLMs. And later ask you to code on LLM and explain what is transformer
