Interview
Similar to other big4`s the interview process is same in KPMG consisting of 1)HR 2) Technical and then 3) Director round.
All these rounds were not conducted on the same day as there were more applicants for the role. So after completing each round and if i was selected for that round they informed me on the same day and also told me to appear for the next round the very next day.
I managed to clear both HR and technical but couldnt do the same for director. I would like to share each round experience.
1)HR- Asked me about my family background

Its just a 5-10 min interview and they look at your communication skills basically.
2)Technical
Here questions regarding the subject were asked and the interviewer almost gone through many topics.
Asked me about outline of GST?
Accounting standards?(particularly AS-9,22)
How do you audit accounts receivables?
What is your audit plan before going for an audit of a manufacturing company?
What is impairment? Methods of calculating impairment to CGU`s?
I was informed that there will be a director round the next day.
3)Director round
The director who interviewed me is a very well experienced guy with almost 20 years working in BIg4`s. For the first 1-2 minuted he described about himself and then asked why dont you describe about yourself and it went on describing myself.
And then he slowly moved into questions asking me questions based on my resume submitted.
He questioned me on CARO, audit assertions, how do you audit the completeness of revenue, PF, ESI applicability and their limits.
The questions were such that those were picked on the spot based on the answers I gave.
I couldnt answer some of them and the round lasted for 20 minutes.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG (Chennai)
Interview
The first round of interview questions were regarding investment standards, revenue recognition standard and scenario, cash equivalents and money market instruments. The second round of interview was all about the attitude and interest to join the company.

Question 1
Revenue recognition principle and a scenario where I had to apply the principles and determine when revenue would be recognized.
Firstly there was a GD where we we're asked to prepare the topic on the spot. Secondly there was HR round where the HR asked questions based on Personal interest, previous job and current job role. Lastly there was Technical round by Partner/Director.

Difference between Ind As and IFRS
I was shortlisted by HR placement agency, then they conducted HR round and technical round. Technical round was pretty good with some basic concepts of auditing and IND AS part.
