I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MODEWORLD (New York, NY)
Interview
The guy interviewing me seemed uninterested before the interview even started. He just gave me a run down of the company and then didn’t even ask me any questions. When I tried telling him about myself or ask him questions about the company he was obviously multi tasking and not paying attention to what I was saying.
First, I interviewed with the owner, then with a director. Neither bothered to turn their cameras on — which, let’s be honest, felt unprofessional and a bit odd. Especially when it came to the CEO. If you’re leading the company, the least you can do is show up — literally. Her comments also echoed things I’d already seen in other reviews, which only confirmed those reviews were spot on. If the CEO can’t even turn on her camera for an interview, that’s a pretty clear sign it’s not a place I’d want to work.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MODEWORLD (New York, NY) in Jan 2017
Interview
I replied to Fashionista job listing and someone emailed me back asking me to come in for a 1:1 informal chat, i went to her very cool downtown office, which looks so nice but I didn't realize how miserable of a place it really is because Amanda makes it sound so cheery because she is super confident and genuinely thinks cursing yelling and bullying young female employees is 'paying you dues'. When really you can go to so many other agencies in the 'cool soho' area and not get abused! And they you even have her own clients witness this and pull you aside and say 'why do you girls let her speak to you like this?'. Control/power/abuse = Amanda Carter

Question 1
Essentially asked how much i'm willing to 'pay my dues' which I didn't realise meant taking the owner Amanda's abuse!
