      Software QA Engineer Interview

      14 May 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (Palo Alto, CA) in Mar 2020

      Interview

The interview was in different stages. First the recruiter, 2nd Technical Personnel, 3rd Hiring Manager. The Recruiter was amazing, loved my resume and pitched for me. The Technical personnel established connections, which made it less tense for me. However, the Hiring manager barely communicated. I had to stop to ask a question after the interview to feel a sense of connection.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

IP Addressing, Routing Protocol Number, OSPF Covergence, OSPF Multicast address, IP Header content and Flag, Program to determine validity of IP address, program to generate 500 IP addresses in a given Network address, Pattern matching using regular expression, version sorting and time complexity.

      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (Bengaluru) in Jul 2023

      Interview

first round of interview..1 hour .. very basic networking questions were asked (looks like interviewer has very limited networking knowledge).. main questions were automation/writing scripts... all he cares about script syntax (not logic) .. I don't know why such a big tech company chooses such kind of interviewer who doesn't have basic knowledge how to take interview ..

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All he asked behavioral questions .. how to do multi tasking, handle pressure etc .. though it's a pure technical role ..
