There was a screening interview with the Talent Management Team that was very professional and organized. Information was shared promptly, meeting conference calls and web conference scheduling went smoothly.
The hiring manager opted for a 7AM call PT. He arrived 5-minutes late to the web session, which was just enough late to send me scrambling to see if I had the right number. He finally joined and apologized for being late, but explained he got in late from a cross country flight the night before. He spent the next 10-minutes trying to get through the company's fire walls and logged into the HR systems to take notes (This included a few minutes where he got up from his chair and left the room). When the Hiring manager finally got down to the interview questions they were standard presales topics very broad and open ended. He did struggle to understand several responses which I worked to clarify and checked up to his distraction.
Following the call I believed that it would have been better, following the initial startup difficulties to have suggested rescheduling for a more convenient time.
Over all it left me with the impression that perhaps the team was over scheduled or perhaps was just not that interested in conducting the interview, which was disappointing given the amount or prep I did on their products and strategy.
