It was a long process. From initial screen setup to rejection was nearly two months.
I had an initial phone screen by HR followed by two 30 minute phone interviews the following week. After the second phone interview I did not receive any feedback for until I reached out a week later. I was informed that I would be invited for an in-person interview. Two weeks and 3 emails later, the in-person was scheduled.
I really enjoyed the in-person interview. It started with a panel interview where I did a 30 minute presentation over a prior insights project I completed. It followed up with four other 30 to 60 minute interviews. They ranged from structured to an informal coffee. I was really impressed with each individual I met and spoke with.
On my flight back home, I received an email asking for another three phone interviews the following week. They were scheduled back to back with each interviewer calling me directly. This caused some confusion as one was calling while the other was wrapping up. If I can provide feedback, I'd recommend not doing that again as it was uncomfortable both myself and the interviewer.
I followed up after the interview with the recruiter and did not get any response from either of my two emails. I was ghosted for 13 days before I was informed I did not get the position.
The interview portion was fabulous and I believe Zillow is a great company with great people. The HR portion was substandard. Very little communication with long periods of silence and no return of emails. Overall positive.
