      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow in Sept 2022

      Interview

Initially I was very impressed with the interview process. I was contacted within a week of applying and I moved through the various stages at a good pace. In the end I had 7 interviews over the course of 3-4 weeks. 1 prescreen, 1 with the hiring manager, and 5 with various counterparts/partners/direct reports/etc. I was well informed by the recruiter every step of the way. Although this was way more interviews than I would expect, each one was relatively casual and I felt very comfortable. Everyone seemed very happy working there and with their colleagues, which was encouraging. After such a positive experience and adjusting my schedule for 7 interviews I was surprised to be completely ghosted by the recruiter. I have hired many positions in my career and know after that many rounds it doesn’t come down to a person not being right for the job. It comes down to someone else just being better, so I’m not bitter in the least. Just putting this out there for anyone who has been waiting a week or more to hear back. Unfortunately, you may not be given the common courtesy of a decline email, so do yourself a favor and don’t wait around in suspense.
