      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2024

      Interview

The interview felt like a genuine conversation. I clearly articulated my skills and experience, connecting them directly to the role. The interviewer was engaged, asked insightful questions, and provided helpful information about the company and team. I left feeling positive and well-informed about the opportunity.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2022

      Interview

I met with a recruiter who was very friendly and provided a very detailed expectation for the interview process. The recruiter asked me to put together a short presentation for the next interview round. He said it couldn't be longer than 15 minutes. I met with the hiring manager and was very conscious of staying to my time limit. At the 15 minute mark the hiring manager seemed underwhelmed that I was finished so quickly and asked if I had anything else to present because we still had 15 minutes left in the interview. I was flustered and sort of took her through some items in my website. It felt awkward and I knew it didn't go that well. It seemed like there was a miscommunication about the interview expectations and my interview suffered (at least partially) from that. The recruiter followed up to say they would reach out when they made a decision. I didn't hear anything for a week so I reached out to him but he said they still didn't have an answer. I never heard anything again. It's very rude when am employer can't even send out an automated script to let candidates know about the end result. Especially when you ask them to put in hours to prepare a presentation for the first round interview. The pre interview felt very considerate and I was surprised how they managed the tail end of things.
