“Having worked in the Silicon Valley for close to 20 years, I decided to come home because I wanted to try a different direction in my career. I think the tech scene in Singapore has ramped up quite a bit, with a stronger focus on software engineering and engineers. That’s good because by cultivating a strong engineering culture, making things and owning core technologies, is what will differentiate us.” Jiayi Chong, GovTech's Distinguished Engineer and returning Singaporean. Join him and other global tech leaders, Silvanus Lee, Twitter Director & APAC Engineering Site Lead, Fiona Tay, Senior Developer at Shopify Singapore and moderator Joshua Wong, Co-founder of Hypotenuse AI, in their unfiltered discussion on the future of tech in Asia and the ups and downs on coming home.
