Pros

Political Campaign Experience Decent Pay Overtime is sometimes allowed

Cons

Can be long hours, if you let it get that far. Can drive a lot. The retention rate could be improved. It's a short term position usually for campaigns. If you don't have another job lined up, it'll be an issue.

Pros

Co workers were a delight

Cons

I worked for 6 weeks, 12 hours days with one day off. I was in charge of hiring and managing hundreds of door knockers. We would hire anyone that came to us because all that mattered for the company was getting our numbers.

Pros

-paid weekly -great coworkers and some of the canvassers were fun to work with

Cons

- The pay was low for majority of the campaign - Sent us out to busy places or low income neighborhoods to “recruit” people to become canvassers. It felt like I was harassing people to meet quotas. Never mind the fact i was catcalled and put into uncomfortable situations because we were always sent out alone.

Pros

Decent Cause to support while you work

Cons

Once I was promoted I was forced to work 70 hour weeks and by the time I quit I was told I would not get a day off in over a month. Management has anger issues and takes it out on staff. They take advantage of poor people working this job who desperately need immediate pay. They talk down to the canvassers, rather than treating everyone as equals-which is the bare minimum in my opinion. While working at this job, it consumed my entire life. No time to see my friends, family, to do any of my hobbies and the little time I did have I was completely depleted from dealing with management's anger issues and disrespect.

Pros

little to no positives about this position

Cons

Was offered a "promotion" and they asked me to move to a new state in about a week.. once I arrived in Illinois, the job went from being 6 days a week 8 hours a day, to 7 days a week 10+ hours a day with no increase in salary or benefits. The manager who was already here on the ground was unreachable and I had little to no support from upper management. It felt like they assumed that once I moved down here, that I would be stuck and unable to leave upon learning of the bait and switch.
