Pros

- Overall friendly corporate culture with benefits on par with other competitors in the industry - Flexible work arrangements (unless your direct superior took it literally and contact you at 7-8 pm feeling entitled) - Great exposure in terms of the types of business and assets - Quite an ideal starting point for a fresh grad to gain exposure

Cons

- (Personal experience) Incompetent and disrespectful direct superior who ruined the whole experience and led to me leaving the firm due to the toxicity - Steep initial learning curve if you have no prior experience, it's more likely than not that no one would be there to guide you if you happen to join the firm during peak season - Repetitive work and tight deadlines - Unnecessary internal bureaucracies - Annual promotion is unfair for those who joined the firm in the middle of the performance assessment period, which may take up to 1.5 years for them to get their first promotion regardless of their performances

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
