Pros
Amazing benefits, off early in the day. I work preload so it's easy for me to get 5 hrs a day. Anything over 5 is over time, and I typically work 5.5hrs. The 6th punch in a week is also overtime. I work M-F so when I pick up Saturday I get 7 hours of overtime every week.
Cons
Boxes come down that weigh 150lbs and nobody is around to help get them off the belt as they come by. You don't have time to ask for help, and they really frown upon letting boxes pass you. It's hard to make sure your being careful with your body when you lift heavy boxes because of how fast paced it is. I go home pretty exhausted. Sometimes managers disappear and I can't leave my area to find help with my scanner or when I need a new marker or tape. You have a ten minute break after 2 hours of working, and it's hard to get a snack and use the bathroom in that time. Everyone in the hub is doing the same thing so the lines can be long. Leaving for a bathroom break while boxes are coming down is not easy and can leave you coming back and catching up. Also, if you are a hard worker you get used and pick up the slack for lazy workers. It's easy to get resentful and frustrated. No A/C in the hub, and with Texas heat & humidity you will be soaked with sweat and dirt by the end of your shift.
