Pros

Hardly to think of any other than free coffee.

Cons

There are MANY issues with the company and its culture. I'm going to be very detailed in my review. Everyone should be fully aware of what is waiting for them if they were to join this company. - The company is full of toxic, self-centered, and ego-centered employees. Do as they want or be prepared to fight and enter endless discussions over smallest things. Of course there are good people too, but guess who's running the wheels? - Current employees have either stayed with the company 3+ years or have recently joined. The middle class is very small. The 3+ years employees are those who got hooked for one reason or other and now are either depressed or burnt out. Many of them have become toxic. - There is very high turn-over rate. The company is constantly hiring, not because they are growing as they like you to believe. People are leaving in masses. In fact, I heard the company is smaller than last year. - You get paid last working day of the month. There have been thousands of requests to make bi-weekly payments but the company has given a blind eye to all of them. - The company is relocating in August. New employees are finding this after they join and they suddenly realize their commute time will double soon. - The source code is GARBAGE. It is full of legacy stuff that no one want to work on. As a new employee I guarantee you that your first task will be maintaining the legacy code. - The code base has become spaghetti, no want dares to refactor code. Instead they add an abstraction on top of abstraction to be able to deliver - The main component is written in C++. They probably advertised C# or Java in job description. There is so much black magic in their code because the person who did it left and now no one knows how it works. - "It is possible that everyone is wrong and I'm right", "Employees come to work only for money", and "We spent so much time on this and no one has confidence it works as wanted" are real sentences I heard from management and senior developers in my first month at the company - The company culture is biased and employees form allies and groups. Groups speak in their native language. Russian speakers make the majority of the company, then there is Indians and Arabs.. All only speak in their native language. If you come and only know English, good luck. - I've heard many stories of employees being fired only because they disagreed with upper management. - I'm %100 confident the generic "GREAT PLACE TO WORK" reviews here are fake. I have reported them and I encourage everyone who thinks the same to report them. - There is no confidence in upper management. Employees don't trust the employee surveys and engagement because all the previous ones yielded no action or change. My advice is to avoid this company at any cost.

Pros

- free coffee - company funded sport activities every day of the week - good location if you live in the Mississauga or Brampton area

Cons

- as other recent reviews indicate, there is chaos in the senior management ranks - lots of senior management have been shown the door or left for better jobs - have never interacted with the CEO much but he seems to be the main reason cited by those who have been around - CEO seems to have a Trump or Putin like style of management (the worst of both) so it is difficult to retain good staff - company is hiring but finding it difficult to retain good staff - left with those who are not worth keeping and could never find employment at other top tier companies - some efforts recently by COO to get feedback from staff on how to make the company great again but usually when you're asking those types of questions it is late - efforts to engage staff seem like they are more for show versus tackling the real problems - lots of rumors of extra-marital affairs with colleagues and direct reports floating around that could be a big embarrassment to the company if they are true - most companies have policies around this kind of stuff (people get fired) but here it seems like it tolerated even in the senior ranks - Soti folks know what rumors I am talking about

Pros

- Great friendships - Good opportunities to advance in some departments - Company funded sports activities every day of the week (pretty cool)

Cons

- Turnover at the company at all levels is hurting employee morale - Hearing from hiring managers trying to back fill open positions that Glass Door reviews of the company are making it difficult to attract top talent - We are only paid once a month (not the norm for North American companies) - Benefits are sub-standard and RRSP matching only kicks in after 2 years - Lots of politics and gossip in some departments that is making it's way to more public forums like Glass Door that is troubling - Leadership at the top is rudder-less. It seems more reactionary than thoughtfully planned out. Scares those of us at the lower levels who have little input or ability to contribute to positive change. - CEO has a reputation of being a moody person who thinks he knows it all. Whatever he says goes. This management style is not likely make you all that popular or result in the best results for the company or employees.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are so happy you have made great friendships and appreciate the social events we offer. As a rapidly growing company with a great product, we agree- there are lots of opportunities for growth! We have formed cross functional committees this year to empower employees to help us solve the types of issues you mentioned, such as compensation, improved benefits and communication/transparency. We’re looking forward to delivering on these areas in 2019 and 2020! If you are interested in joining any of these committees to share your feedback, please contact the People & Culture Team.
