Pros

Stable job regardless of economic conditions.

Cons

Poor compensation and benefits, many of their so called "talents"/scholars/HOSs got poached/join EMA/join private sector. Just read their interviews on SP Group scholars/HOSs in mainstream media publications and search their Linkedin, most are NOT with the company anymore, which should ring alarm bells to the HR team. Inflation and salary competition has risen so much, but as usual, no salary review. They don't value staff, they rather you quit. Even the civil service is conducting a salary review for everyone. We don't hear anything here. Increase flex by a mere $100 after 10 years which is a joke, have to do shift work, and night standby. After 7 years, my salary barely past $6k, friends who is smart enough to join other organizations laughing at me. Cousin who graduated last year with same degree joined DSTA with $5k salary already, almost like my salary. Going to resign very soon just like many other colleagues. Yes, bonus is OK, but, Civil Service/Private Sector has mid year/end year bonus/stock options as well, if you do the math, SP Group's bonus is nothing special, which is really laughable since their profits is almost a billion every single year!

Pros

- Decent pay, Reasonable bonus. - You "plan" your job (but when everyone applied for electricity at the same time, the job plan for you) - The company gives you access to grab rides/mileage, which also means a lot of site works - Stable income even during covid19 - 18 days leave when joining, even have some medical coverage if needed. never use = go into Medisave - Colleagues are friendly and they help along when in need.

Cons

- Bonus-motivated company. Making mistaking = No bonus - Under-employment, lack manpower + huge job intake = extremly fast pace environment. - Never-ending jobs, Meaning you are always needed, Prepare to open your laptop when you are at home on leave, MC or even during a holiday overseas. - SP contractor, while some are decent, some are legit slow af. you gotta chase them or the applicant will chase after you. You are legit the middle man between an annoying customer trying to get their electricity supply and a brick wall that says he will pass you the documents by today but his "today" is next week/ next next week. [Now I finally understand what she meant when she said: "If you really want me, you should chase after me"] - Middle man. You are not only the middle man between the applicant and the contractor, you gotta deal with LTA, HDB, NPark, PUB, SLA, and JTC. bro, your phone is gonna make more noise than your gf did last night. - Speaking of noise: Guard duty - every month there will be 2-4 days you need to be on standby from 5.30 pm - the next morning 8 am on the weekdays, 8 am - the next morning 8 am on the weekends. Just gotta ensure you answer your phone when the company calls you even at 2 am.
