- WFH (which ends soon) so not really a pro anymore - Good people to work with

Where to begin... Following the acquisition, the work environment—particularly within Client Services—has deteriorated significantly due to a lack of clear structure, communication, and leadership alignment. There is minimal transparency around expectations or priorities, and cross-department collaboration is often challenging. Other teams can be pushy or dismissive, frequently providing little to no constructive feedback while placing unrealistic demands on support teams. Workload and pressure have increased substantially without corresponding resourcing or incentives. Budget constraints have resulted in understaffed support teams, leading to employees being stretched far beyond reasonable capacity and effectively expected to perform the work of multiple roles simultaneously. This has created an environment that is overwhelming, mentally exhausting, and unsustainable. One particularly demoralizing change was the shift of salaried employees to hourly compensation, which felt like a step backward and further eroded morale. Despite the focus on growth and acquisitions, there appears to be limited investment in employee well-being, development, or retention. Escalation processes are also problematic. Development teams often prioritize lower-impact initiatives while being unresponsive or overly critical when support escalates urgent, real-time issues affecting clients. This dynamic places additional strain on support staff who are already under significant pressure. Since the acquisition, morale across Client Services has noticeably declined. Many employees feel disengaged, undervalued, and burnt out, with little confidence that conditions will improve. For those considering support roles in particular, this environment can be extremely challenging, and the compensation does not adequately offset the stress and workload. There are also operational challenges with offshore teams that lack sufficient product and business context, which further complicates workflows and adds unnecessary friction. Overall, this is not a supportive or sustainable environment for Client Services employees, especially post-acquisition. Prospective candidates should carefully evaluate whether this aligns with their expectations for work-life balance, mental well-being, and long-term growth.

Nice offices • Generally friendly people • Interesting product with a clear business strategy

Cons

• Management culture can be toxic • High workload with limited recognition • Most promotions are not truly merit based, so growth can feel stagnant over time • Low professional standards, which can make average performance look exceptional

Great place to work, nice people, a very interesting industry, and a cool environment. I worked before in horrible places, and this is a great place to be!

Pros

I can't say enough how much fun I had with this team. Great Colleagues Fun, meaningful work Great-thoughtful leadership (every leader I worked with really cared about their position on the team and their people) Fast Learning- great culture of "let's fix this together and get it done" Accountability- You weren't there long if you weren't contributing Shifting to in-office I really enjoyed it. The company really prioritized a great place to work

Cons

Struggling to find one. Sometimes being globally oriented made you work a lot of weird hours but I enjoyed the relationships. I left the company for a career advancement not because I wasn't happy.

Pros

Good people, benefits ok..ish, management think they are thoughtful with employees and they are at some level.

Cons

This is a CALL CENTER. They measure you by your Adherence which no one explains how is done. It doesn't count how much hours you put in , how many difficult cases you solve. They will listen to a call you made a month prior and castigate you for not saying " thank you for being with shift4". The Job is soul crushing, mentally draining and the schedule is non-negotiable. If you are a parent avoid at all costs. You are exposed to clients emotional state and internal incompetence and the compensation does not even it out.

Change in Management

Pros

International opportunities and interaction with multi cultural teams. Remote work. Acquiring new companies.

Cons

Laid off multiple people and 2 weeks later posted a job for same position as some of the people laid off, with only difference that it is in office. Management has not sustained clear communication, processes, vision and values besides "Do your job". Be flat and stay flat is no more.

Great culture, helpful people, very involved and active exec team

Cons

Product is far behind the field and very expensive. Touch sale unless the customer has familiarity or is a mix btw retail and fast casual like a wine bar
