Pros

1. Transparent and systematic promotional system 2. Great and hard working colleagues (counts to majorities)

Cons

1. Zero Work-Life balance ( long working hours: 730 -1000 for managers as normal, and no rest on weekends) 2. Little Benefits (besides late night taxi claims, no other benefits. You even need to bring your own water) 3. Unstructured training ( stated good training, but never materialised. On Job Training became On Job Exploring) 4. Favouritism ( well, this cannot be solved to all companies. But this is esp obvious in here as all decision rights and power are aggregated to the store manager) 5. Little concern on employee's well being ( simple google Black Corporation Uniqlo, you will know why. they are known as slave drivers)

Pros

Staff discount. Some nice people but there are alot of nicer people OUT of Uniqlo too. For every nice people here there's many more who's at least few times nicer.

Cons

HR, or the semblance of one, is dysfunctional. Also, huge misalignment between expectation and reality. Very toxic working climate. Slave drivers. Useless and redundant KPI like quantity of reviews etc which staff easily fake the survey to achieve results and the managers are dumb enough to believe it. Seriously the longer you work here the harder it is for you to find job outside since the skills aren't easily transferrable. That is unless you intend to stay here forever. If you are thinking of a fast track from store to back office the reality is that it is not so fast. Good luck wishing.

Pros

Honestly, none that I can think of at the top of my head

Cons

- The staff discount is only 30% which is measly. - You only get ONE uniform per QUARTER (ie. one free top and bottom every 3 months) and if you take a uniform and quit before the end of the quarter, you will need to pay for it. - Incredibly long hours = no work life balance. The morning shift is 8am till 6.15pm (but you will ALWAYS need to OT, sometimes till 7/730. I've seen people leave at 8pm. On Mondays, you start at 730am and leave at the same time. Closing shift starts at 12.45pm and expect to leave around 11.30pm or later every time. - Very, very, very rigid culture and structure put in place. As expected of a Japanese company. You can voice out your concerns but to be honest, they don't listen. There is also an INSANE hierarchy in the company - perhaps 12 levels or more? - Not all store managers are good. If you're lucky then you'll get an SM who can guide and mentor you. If not, you'll be left clueless and unsure of where your career is going. - If you want to go to HQ, you need to spend at least 3-4 years on the ground in the store. - This role is NOT for people who do not want to be in retail, work retail hours, and manage a store. This position is to help you become a STORE MANAGER, nothing more, nothing less. If you end up in HQ, that is up to your own ability and whether or not there are openings available. Do not be deceived and think that you can go to HQ after 6 months. - All in all, my opinion is my own but these are the facts of the role. Think about whether or not you really want to go into retail before joining.
