Pros

-above average pay -great benefits -$3,000 referral bonuses (before tax) -great culture -great team members -supportive management

Cons

-training was not adequate in my opinion -tech stack lost quality after microsoft migration -no dedicated project management software to easily track implementation progress per customer -no default project plan template, everyone had their own, made uniformity optics impossible. -customer support quality was most complained about by customers -managing, more like wrangling customer expectations vs reality is really tough in this job -sales team promises clients the world, implementation team is where the customer shock and heartbreak happens when we find out things that sales didn't flesh out and then we tell the customer we can't fit their use case. -it's super hard to learn HCM/Payroll/Benefits subject matter from scratch for this job. I'd actually avoid this job unless you have some previous HR administration experience.

Soul Crushing

Pros

Lots of snacks; great interview process; other people on my team were amazing!

Cons

Where to start - I was hired as an Implementation Manager with the promise of "lots of room for advancement", "hyper growth", and a "work hard, play hard culture". Well, turns out, none of those things were true, except for the "work hard" part. The work itself was soul crushing - we were there on average from 8/9am-8/9pm, and we were lucky if we had a chance to take a lunch break. At one point, I heard a colleague ask (half-jokingly), "I wonder if Zenefits will pay for my divorce as an employee benefit?" The software (at the time) was so buggy and glitchy that the majority of our job was troubleshooting the system and correcting errors. Not to mention, Sales would promise customers the moon, but when the software couldn't deliver, we were unofficially were tasked with recovering the sale and/or dealing with pissed of customers. While the experience seemed "automatic" to customers on the front end, Zenefits was really a mechanical turk with employees processing changes on the back end, which of course, led to lots of errors. Despite being sold on the promise of lots of growth opportunity, promotions seemed to be based on seniority at the company, and hiring stopped all together shortly after I started. Granted, some of this may have changed since I left, but if you've been reading the news, you know that there have been massive layoffs and quite a bit of scandal. The promise of Zenefits' software is very alluring, and assuming the software catches up, there really is value to business owners, but when I was there, the software just couldn't keep up with the hype.

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate that the early days working at the fastest growing SaaS company ever were painful. Our product and engineering team have worked tirelessly to address early issues with the product. As a matter of fact, PC Magazine just recommended us in their February 2017 article entitled “HR Software Showdown.” We are committed to delivery on the promise to create a digital HR platform that helps harness and empower every company’s greatest asset - its people.
