      It was great while it lasted!

      Pros

      Smart workforce, teamwork, wonderful coworkers, always willing to step in and help out. Flexible schedules, periodic telecommuting, lots of paid holidays, unlimited PTO, and free snacks and lunch.

      Cons

      Constant change that never made any sense. Top heavy, more managers than I ever seen in my entire career, most of them inexperienced, with no HR, Benefits, Broker, Payroll experience. Popularity contest, the cool kids were the only people promoted and they only looked out for their cliques.

We also understand that you may not agree with some of our management decisions, but I can assure you that promotions are based on a variety of criteria, and popularity is not one of them.       They don’t care about you

      Free lunch and snacks. Great coworkers.

      Cons

      Where to start... sales oversells the product and doesn’t care that it screws over support. They are severely understaffed. They won’t hire enough people for support to help relieve other teams. Directors say they take your input into consideration but then go and do the exact opposite. Work life balance is not existent in support. There are so many tickets that you have to go home and work over time (clocked in or not) to even out your backlog.

      Miserable place to work with awful management

      There's a few friendly coworkers left after the third round of layoffs.

      Cons

      - extremely unstable environment - HR department lies to prevent employees from receiving bonuses - upper management has no clue what they are doing, yet in each round of layoffs (3 so far) they somehow keep their jobs - teams compete and complain instead of collaborate - managers are promoted due to tenure, not achievement/ability to manage - zero company direction - new executives are cutthroat

      The February layoff was difficult. It has given us years of runway to build a better all-in-one HR platform and optimize our go-to-market and operations. Our new CEO has deep HCM experience, as does of new CRO. The company direction is clear: HR1 (move our current customers to a pay model); P50 (payroll in all 50 States); optimize our ops and broker business; retool our go-to-market. There are P50 signs all over the company. HR1, ops improvements, etc. are address at nearly every company All Hands. I don't know what you are referring to regarding bonuses.       Little to no onboarding or training at all Left the company still unfamiliar with the product Upper management doesn’t manage Executive team is an old boys club where they’ll tell you that a job isn’t about money while sitting in one of their many vacation homes Very little diversity All of the good leaders and workers are gone As others have pointed out a lot of their good reviews have been incentivized by leadership

      - Wonderful coworkers! Everyone here is hard working, motivated, genuine, intelligent, and willing to help. Plus, the leadership is great. - We are creating a very exciting and revolutionary technology that truly impacts small businesses in a positive way. Having a real impact on people is very rewarding and makes work fun. - The office has great perks. Food, beverages, games, etc. Very nice additions! Also, the office is located is a great location in SoMa. - It seems like employees are excited to be here and be part of something amazing. - LOVE the fast-paced environment where change can happen quickly. This is great because it makes us extremely dynamic and agile. In summary, I have been with this company for nearly 2 years now through ups and downs. I wouldn't change it for anything. Zenefits is a great place to work and has provided me opportunities to advance my career. My coworkers are part of what make this such a great place to work.

      Thanks for taking the time to write this review, as with most startup environments change is a prominent factor. As Zenefits scales and grows, the direction of the company may change but our core company values remain prevalent.
