Pros

Overtime pay, colleagues are friendly

Absolutely zero direction from the first day of working at Zenefits. Multiple manager changes, different directions and goals for sales reps on a monthly cadence. Too many cooks in the kitchen; leadership loves to suggest new ideas, but no one stops to think through the impact of these changes. Reps basically have a new job to do month to month. Less than 20% of reps hit their quota number. Managers have "favorites" that get prioritized over other individuals that are outperforming them. Not a good culture to be a part of. Would not recommend.

Pros

I have fun every day, solve problems that help our people and customers, and have learned so much and grown professionally. I love working with talented people that care - it's a unique experience. I come from a family of entrepreneurs and small business leaders, and being able to help small businesses create a great experience for their employees is cool. The exec leaders are smart and driving us to be a top tech partner for the small business community. Through Covid, we've adapted well as a company - HR and managers have been super supportive and we have work from home benefits. Looking forward to the next year and beyond!

Nothing is perfect, but this is the best job I've had in my career (20+ years).

Great work culture: flexible timings, no micromanagement, freedom for innovation, approachable and friendly managers, monthly outdoor recreational outings (in pre-covid times) Ample opportunity for growth: high coding standards, diverse and well maintained tech-stack, freedom to try upcoming technologies Good Compensation: your skills and hard work won't go unnoticed

You may get complacent and stop trying for better job opportunities

Culture- This is what Zenefits is known for, and it unfortunately rings true that the office politics are relentless and a huge distraction. This creates an environment for clicks, constant gossip and occasional bullying. Leadership & training- It's normal and expected here to have to figure out the role for yourself. Managers are often so consumed with their own issues with the company to focus on managing anybody at all. I quickly learned how prevalent this problem with training and management was in the other departments too. Favoritism- This is a huge issue. Huge. Unfortunately, sucking up to executives is rewarded while hard work, loyalty, and integrity is completely ignored. Why are those who aggressively suck-up being promoted and given leadership positions when there are hard-working and much more humble employees obviously more deserving? Why are only select employees invited to executive dinners and trips when others in the same positions, or higher positions, are not? Why are only certain departments given swag, dinners, trips, holiday parties and thrown events while other departments completely ignored? HR- Employee information given to hr is often leaked and gossiped about. It's normal and recommended by my fellow co-workers to keep things from certain people in hr out of fear of gossip and humiliation.
