During 2020, the Fluidigm Field Service Engineering (FSE) Organization faced great challenges to provide continuous service to our customers in the field. The team managed through changing protocols and restrictions related to the pandemic, providing essential service to customers who were often performing mission-critical operations using Fluidigm systems. “Each of our colleagues and customers have been called on to adjust to the environment in unique ways in 2020,” said John Corliss, VP, Global Service and Sales Operations. “Teams across Fluidigm responded to new constraints with creative solutions to complete their work.” For that we thank you! #fieldservices #thankyou #supportteam #pandemic #microfluidics #creativesolutions #CyTOF #imaging

#Infectiousdisease research plays a critical role in improving global health care. In our next Journal Highlights event, we will look at two recent infectious disease studies: one investigating the impact of anti-microbial resistance, and the other, lung pathology during COVID-19 infection. We hope you will join us for these contemporary and important conversations: Thursday 3 December, 06:00 PST/09:00 EST/14:00 GMT/15:00 CET A One Health approach for assessing antimicrobial resistance in informal settlements using high-throughput qPCR Speakers: Ellen Higginson, PhD, Research Associate, University of Cambridge Nick Jordan, Field Application Specialist, Fluidigm https://lnkd.in/gWGKwUc Friday 4 December, 15:00 GMT/ 16:00 CET Investigating the lung pathology of SARS-CoV-2 infection with Imaging Mass Cytometry Speakers: Hester Koppejan, Field Application Specialist, Fluidigm Leigh-Anne McDuffus, Field Application Specialist, Fluidigm https://lnkd.in/gT_-59B #globalhealth #covid19 #microbes #sarscov2 #imagingmasscytometry #pathology #qPCR
Congratulations to Dylan Kotliar et al. on their new publication in Cell this month! The group studied #Ebola virus and infection, dissecting host-virus interactions and cataloguing changes in cell-type abundance and cell state over the course of the disease. A 42-marker #CyTOF panel was used to comprehensively profile circulating immune cells in a nonhuman primate model of lethal Ebola virus infection, finding key immune cell subtypes elicited in response. “Since the onset of the global health crisis, companies, universities, governmental entities and others have demonstrated an ability to pivot rapidly and innovate in ways that move us another step closer to effectively managing through this pandemic. This spirit of collaborative problem solving is evident in the patient-focused delivery platform developed by Healthvana, and Fluidigm is pleased to have the opportunity to offer this game-changing tool to our clinical laboratory customers.” - Chris Linthwaite, President and CEO of Fluidigm. Why not take what automation can give? The 48.Atlas IFC architecture automates multiple RNA-seq library prep workflow steps otherwise performed manually, including poly(A) RNA capture, RNA fragmentation, reverse transcription, sample-barcode PCR and multiple wash steps. And because processing on Juno™ requires no manual intervention and no pipetting, the solution greatly reduces hands-on time as well as consumables cost and plastic waste.
