      Software engineer
      Current employee
      Bengaluru
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good learning opportunity since IBM software labs department is mostly focused on launching new and innovative products. So you will get to do POCs, and from scratch project development. Juniors also get good opportunity to technically lead the team of even seniors.

      Cons

Work culture is very bad, it's like startup where everyone blames others for release delays or some breaking code. No work life balance, manager can ask to work after working hours and even on weekends.

      Advisory software engineer (band 8)
      Former employee
      Research Triangle Park, NC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Stable company, decent pay (not highest, nowhere near lowest), decent first and second line management, relaxed dress code, mostly a fun place to work (very team dependent)

      Cons

Divests itself of older technologies a bit too fast at times. Lots of change going on, company is in the process of bouncing back so the quarterly results are often not great.

      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great people. Everyone supports each other and wants you to succeed

      Cons

Your value is reduced to cost benefit analysis. If they can replace you with cheaper international employees or AI, they won't hesitate. Not before you're asked to train or code your replacement
